I think I had stream entry

Publications: 3 Date d'inscription: 23/04/24 Publications Récentes
Hi, this will be quick

After spending ~20 hours straight in Jhanas and having a quick cessation, I had a weird change. My experience became impersonal. There is no "I" anymore. "I" just see everything in the mind as just happening causally, naturally occurring phenomena, without any person inside. There is still sometimes clinging to some experience tho, so I am not sure this is stream entry. It happened a week ago, and for now it seems very stable. How to verify what this experience actually is?

You will need to give it more time.
It sounds pretty great as far as these things go.

Also I would recommend not pushing for any 'verification' yet.
Keep the good practice but not overdo it.

You spent 20 hours straight in a jhana?   Was it a hard jhana? . That's  amazing  In and of itself.

Your previous posts were very concerning (Hardcore meditation induced psychosis and suicidal tendencies - Discussion - www.dharmaoverground.org), I hope you are doing better now.

I believe you might have a dissociation or a de realization  disorder.  Possibly  meditation induced or underlying problem.  I COULD BE WRONG. Your doctor needs to know your meditating 20 hours a day. See what he says. That type of sensory deprivation  can make somebody crazy

Strat a log here on DhO and log your daily meditation for the next 6 months. Then ask folks here to give you their opinion

Please do very systematic vipashyana.

Make the movements of the breath at the abdomen your grounding object.

When a secondary object (distraction) exerts a pull on attention, permit attention to track it till it ends. Simply knowing sounds as sounds, thoughts as thoughts etc.

Do a few one hour sessions and write about what you observe as happens with the secondary object, attention, and knowing.

For each session give a description in your writing in simple lucid plain 'street' language.

Avoid words like anp, dukkha nana, fruitions etc like the anathema. No meditation language, only street english.

Simple, empirical, un-embellished language.

If during the course of one hour you feel excited, sad, energized, confident etc then write that.

Basis such detailing you will get excellent feedback

I double down on "not searching for verification." Ask yourself "who wants or needs verification and why?"

totally understandable to want to "know" but if this is stream entry it won't go anywhere and verifying it is, won't help the process play out.

Please don't spend 20 hours in a jhana if you have been diagnosed  with a mental illness.

They were indeed bots, so now they and their comments are gone, gone, gone. Thank you for the head's up!
