Dear All,

I will hopefully be headed up the Left Coast of the US, Norns permitting, in early October after my stint at Cochise Stronghold/Dharma Treasure for the month of September (which is beautiful, BTW), and plan to be driving up from San Francisco/Bay Area towards Seattle on October 6th, and was thinking that stopping in Portland for the night of October 6th would be a great way place to meet up with some fellow Dharma Farers, catch a good meal, and break up a long drive.

So, if you are interested in meeting up the night of Saturday, October 6th for dinner and talking about Dharma and Life, give a shout out here. If you have any good restaurant recommendations that serve good food and are conducive to long conversations, happy to hear them.

Still not sure where I will be staying that night, open to suggestions.

We had a blast staying at this place. It's about 25 miles outside Portland near the Columbia River. Funky. Potentially loud, though, if a concert's happening.

I will be in Seattle on the 7th, so no need to drive down unless you wish to.

Wow, that would be great!  I see that is a Sunday, which is convenient.  Do you know around what times you might be available that day?

Would love to hang out with you that day! You and I  tried to set up a Skype time years ago and it never worked out. I have not checked in on this forum for a couple years at least, then just last night coincidentally checked in to find out you are coming through Portland!  
I can also recommend Edgefield (McMenamens) for food/hangout and a great place to stay overnight.
Pho Zen (a few minutes off I 205) has great pho (Vietnamese soup) and they don't rush you. I also know a couple great sushi restaurants, but not so good for hanging out. Portland is a foodie town so there are plenty of other options depending on what you like. Please PM me if you want more info or to arrange specifics.

First time poster, long time lurker. (sorry, bad joke).

I have a bed for you in central East Portland if you don't mind staying in a twin bed of a three-year-old.

I'm happy to find a place for us to eat. I have several Dhamma friends that would love to chat the path. I don't actively post on these boards (see reference to three year old above), but love this path. A friend of mine, who would join us, alerted me to this post.

I live in Portland and would be interested in hanging out and talking dharma. There are many good food options here depending on your preferences. Not as many suitable for long conversation on a Saturday night, but I'm sure we can come up with some good candidates. There's an Indian place called Swagat that's tasty and could work since it's a big space. There's also an abundance of good Thai places that could fit the bill.

I'm also open and interested in meeting up on the 6th since I live in the area; I might listen more than I speak since the path and I have been mia, still have slime mold on the brain solving puzzles that don't exist, but out of nowhere nonduality just sort of fell into place and now I'm here (lurking).

Just got sick so I might duck out on this meetup, apparently I'm now going to befriend my gut microbiome, veg out and watch Hilda; perfect example of fiction therapy. I'm an adult, promise.

Leaving from Oakland, CA area now, hopefully will be in Portland by 7pm.

I'm still up for meeting up tonight. Feel free to PM me and I can pass along my contact info to share details and also throw out some options if nothing's been decided yet.

I am super flexible food-wise: howzabout someone who knows the area just pick a place, post it here, and we can meet there. Sound good? Currently eating food in Weed, I think about 285 miles south of Portland, heading north shortly, likely 6 hours to get there, so 7pm or so may work for me.

There's a nice Thai place called Chiang Mai's (3145 SE Hawthorne Blvd). It's a cozy space but there's a decent chance they'll have room for a small group. Not guaranteed, but if it turns out to be busier than there's some other options in the area. I'll plan on 7 and you and anyone else who's interested can let me know if that needs to be adjusted.

Also, if you need a place to crash my partner and I have an extra room in our home that you're welcome to.

Swagat is at 2074 NW Lovejoy St. It's not clear to me if anyone else is joining...in any case I'll be there around 7pm, maybe a few minutes after. 

I just saw your previous message saying you're going to Chiang Mai's. I will go there since I wasn't sure. My number is 484-350-1514, in case we end up in different places I figure that will be easier. Should be there in a couple minutes.

A place to crash is actually of great value, and I will take them up on it, if that works. I have no idea where would be good for dinner, but I am sure whatever you come up with will be great. Let me know what restaurant you think will work here on this thread. Let's say 7pm for dinner.

Ok great, our friend Maarten has confirmed he's on board to host you & I will follow up on this thread tonight/tomorrow morning with the location of the restaurant to meet at at 7pm tomorrow.

Posting here in case there are any non-spud Seattle folks - for tonight we will meet at Queen Anne Beer Hall at 7pm: 203 Thomas St, Seattle, WA 98119.  The place checks all of our boxes (serves food, open late, not loud, plenty of space, allows kids, won't push us out).  

Sorry I missed you Daniel. We had a surprise influx of grandkids into our house Sarurday afternoon, and it was all family time through Sunday night.
